'The role of governance professional in academy trusts is both wide-ranging and niche, hence our trust recognised the need for expert advice on recruitment. We secured professional support from Emma Perkin who drew on her own extensive experience to produce the Job Description, Skills Matrix, Interview schedule and desk-top tasks to aid selection. Emma worked closely with the small group of Trustees delegated to make the appointment which resulted in the recruitment of a colleague from the legal sector, a trained solicitor with a thorough knowledge of compliance, albeit in a different area. To support the induction of the new recruit we asked Emma to oversee an induction/training programme. Emma's support through the whole process has been invaluable to the Trust.
