Trust Governance Insight is an annual programme of support for academy governance professionals. It has been developed by sector specialists with a strong understanding and practical experience of working in academy governance. The programme is informed by our significant experience of working in governance professional, company secretary and clerking roles in school trusts. We know these roles can be exciting, exhausting, interesting and isolating in equal measure. They are multi-faceted and are not always understood by colleagues! We understand how these roles combine the demands of working with a variety of stakeholders, and the requirement to keep up with regularly evolving government guidance as well as sector good practice.

Trust Governance Insight provides a one-stop shop for information, advice, and resources, as well as access to a community of colleagues working in similar roles. We deliver this through regular training sessions, bulletins, a ‘help on hand’ service and a peer network we have developed from the ground up. In short, it is the sort of programme that we wanted when we began working in school trusts – we couldn’t find the offer we needed and so we started Trust Governance Insight.

Trust Governance Insight is now accessed by more than 190 governance professionals across the country. Whatever the size or makeup of your trust, the programme will offer the opportunity for you to link with colleagues in similar trusts, who may well be experiencing similar issues. You will be part of a great community of individuals who support one another and develop together, whilst accessing the high-quality training and resources offered by our expert team.”

The annual programme of support consists of tailored advice and insight throughout the year:

Training sessions

– a series of training sessions delivered over the school year, focusing on strengthening your knowledge and skills, understanding of changes in the sector, compliance requirements and good practice, as well as providing time for peer discussion.

Update bulletin

– resources, sector updates and good practice case studies, all of which are targeted to provide inspiration for your role.

'Help on hand' support

– on-call support from our team for email enquiries or one-to-one calls to discuss areas or advice relevant to your role, academy or trust.

Our community

– this tailored platform contains useful resources while also enabling participants to stay in touch in between sessions.
