What we do - Trust Governance Insight

Trust Governance Insight is an annual programme of support for academy governance professionals. It has been developed by sector specialists with a strong understanding of academy governance, practical experience of working to meet requirements and good practice set out in government guidance, and a passion for working together to share insight and support.

Trust Governance Insight provides a ‘one stop shop’ for information, advice and guidance, access to resources for you to use, and a community of colleagues working in similar roles. We deliver this through regular training sessions, bulletins, a ‘help on hand’ service together with developing and a peer network. In short, it is the sort of programme that we wanted when we began working in school trusts – we couldn’t find the offer we needed and so we started Trust Governance Insight.

Our team was inspired to start Trust Governance Insight informed by brings significant our experience working in, governance professional, company secretary and clerking roles in school trusts, and knowledge of how to meet requirements and good practice set out in government guidance. We know these roles can be exciting, exhausting, interesting and isolating in equal measure. They are multi-faceted and are not always understood by colleagues! We understand how the roles combine the demands of working with a variety of stakeholders, and the requirement to keep up with regularly evolving government guidance.

Trust Governance Insight is now accessed by more than 70 governance professionals across the country. Whatever the size or make up of your trust, the programme will offer the opportunity for you to link with colleagues experiencing similar issues or in similar trusts. You will be part of a great community who support and develop together whilst accessing high quality training offered by our expert team.

Testimonials

'Trust Governance Insight is an invaluable source of expertise, information and support within governance of academy trusts across the country. I have attended several governor training programmes, and access a wide variety of resources and tools online, but Trust Governance Insight delivers to a level above all others I have experienced.

The tools, content and information sharing is always current, helpful and fit for purpose, eclipsed only by the training sessions and support that demonstrate a remarkable understanding and intuition for the current issues facing governance professionals within academy trusts.

The way the team at Trust Governance Insight are helping to professionalise our sector is exceptional.
